Although Modi and Xi recently met on the sidelines of the Brics summit – where the two sides reportedly agreed on expeditious disengagement from the LAC standoff – it is important to remember China has employed assertive and coercive strategies in its interactions with nations that do not align with its interests.

He emphasised that “forming a broad patriotic United Front is vital for the success of the mission of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).”
