Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda today announced the launch of a new Honda Hornet 2.0 in the Indian market. The bike gets an OBD2-compliant engine, and new features and the price starts from Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings for the bike are underway and the deliveries are expected to begin from September.
The new Honda Hornet 2.0 looks largely the same as the previous generation. There are no any major design updates and there are no new colour options either. The bike gets LED headlights, a sculpted fuel tank with sharp body panels and new graphics which gives it an aggressive look.
At the front, it gets an Up-side Down (USD) front fork – a first in the sub-200cc motorcycle segment, mono-shock rear suspension, alloy wheels and split seat setup. Braking duties are taken care of by disc brakes on both ends with single-channel ABS.

Features include all LED lighting (headlamp, taillamp and indicators), a fully digital instrument cluster with five-level illumination control which displays various information such as gear position indicator, service due indicator, trip computer, speed and much more.
As mentioned previously, the Hornet gets an OBD2-compliant engine. It’s powered by a 184.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which produces 17bhp of peak power at 8,500rpm and 15.9Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine comes paired with a five-speed gearbox. The new Hornet also gets a new assist and slipper clutch which eases upshifts & manages rear wheel lock-up on hard downshifts while deceleration. Honda is offering a 3-year warranty as standard, customers can also opt for an additional 7-year warranty.
