PM Modi honors sacrifice of Sahibzadas on ‘Veer Baal Diwas’, flags off march-past | India NewsWORLD NEWS
Speaking on living for the pride and glory of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “We dont have to waste or stop for even a second. The gurus gave us these teachings. We need to live for the country’s pride and glory. We need to live for the betterment of the country.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi further added, “This year America, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, UAE and Greece organised programmes related to ‘Veer Bal Diwas’…Today when we are proud of our heritage, the world has started looking at us differently…Today’s India has confidence in its own people, potential and inspirations…”
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi also appealed to religious leaders and social organizations to launch a movement against drug use. He encouraged youngsters to prioritize their health, highlighting that a fit individual would be a ‘super hit’ in both their career and life.
Prime Minister Modi also flagged off a youth march on the event marking ‘Veer Baal Diwas’.
The origins of ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ trace back to January 9, 2022, when PM Modi announced its observance on December 26 to honor the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas. The government has undertaken a nationwide initiative to educate citizens, particularly young children, about the inspiring stories of courage and sacrifice of Sahibzadas.
In a bid to spread awareness, the government is organizing participative programs across the country. A digital exhibition showcasing the life stories and sacrifices of the Sahibzades will be displayed in schools and childcare institutions nationwide. Additionally, a film dedicated to ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ will be screened across the country. The government is organizing various online competitions, including interactive quiz shows, through the MYBharat and MyGov portals.
The members of the Sikh community in the United States expressed gratitude to PM Modi for taking the historical step to observe this day worldwide.
Union home minister Amit Shah, along with BJP national president JP Nadda, marked the occasion by visiting and offering prayers at Gurudwara Bara Sikh Sangat in Kolkata. He highlighted the significance of remembering and honoring the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh’s sons on ‘Veer Baal Diwas.’
