NEET PG 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate medical courses 2024 exam in the month of March 2024, according to the ‘Examination Calendar for Academic Year 2024-25’, released by the NTA earlier in September last year.
Several media reports suggest that the NEET PG 2024 exam will be held in last week of June to first week of July.Earlier this week, the Press Trust of India (PTI) published a report quoting sources that the NEET PG exam 2024 will be held in the month of July, followed by various counselling rounds starting in August 2024. However, there has been no official announcement from the NEET organising body – NTA in this regard.
However, following previous year trends, the NEET PG exam, can be expected to commence in the month of March, almost simultaneously with the NEET UG examination.
This uncertainty has left many doctors and aspiring NEET PG candidates in the dark. Various unconfirmed reports presented by media outlets has attracted negative reactions. Any official announcement in this regard is awaited from the NTA. Scoring well in the exam requires strategic selection targeted practice of important topics.
Here are some essential details about the upcoming NEET PG 2024 exam that aspiring candidates must know.
NEET PG 2024 exam pattern
The exam is held online, in computer-based testing (CBT) mode. Candidates should get ready for a three-hour and thirty-minute long comprehensive exam. The exam will only be administered in English, and there will be 200 questions in total.
The NEET PG 2024 question paper is structured into three sections, denoted as Sections A, B, and C. The questions are of the multiple-choice type, it collectively carries a total of 800 marks.
In NEET PG 2024, each correct answer earns +4 marks, an incorrect response results in a -1 mark deduction, unanswered questions carry no marks, and marked-for-review answers are assessed based on correctness.

The NEET PG exam consists of 200 questions based on the MBBS curriculum. Below is the subject-wise breakup of NEET PG topics:
