Delhi Government’s Plan to Implement Hybrid Mode in Schools Due to Bad Weather |
On Saturday, Atishi Marlena, the Education Minister of Delhi, instructed officials to develop a hybrid learning strategy for schools. The objective is to ensure that classes remain unaffected by adverse weather conditions like heat waves and fog. The directive entails integrating the Delhi Model Virtual Schools (DMVS) program with the traditional physical school model implemented by the Delhi government, as stated in an official announcement.
“Schooling in Delhi gets frequently disturbed due to adverse weather like heat waves during summer and fog in winter. Through DMVS, we will make all Delhi government schools hybrid so that our children’s education does not suffer from the vagaries of weather,” Atishi said.
The Delhi government plans to establish a hybrid learning environment in all schools through the DMVS initiative to safeguard students’ education from being disrupted by adverse weather conditions, as noted by the minister.
She further added, “For those children who cannot reach school, the Delhi government is taking the finest education to them through DMVS.”
Despite the foggy and cold weather, Delhi schools have resumed in-person classes for all grades. As of January 15, 2024, students from Delhi government schools, government-aided institutions, and recognised private schools, including those in nursery, kindergarten, and primary classes, have returned to their respective schools in the physical mode.
At present, the Delhi Model Virtual Schools (DMVS) extend virtual education services for students in grades 9 to 12. Additionally, DMVS offers test preparation assistance to students in Delhi government schools gearing up for exams such as NEET, JEE, and CUET.
