Gyanvapi Mosque: Hindus allowed to pray at sealed basement of Gyanvapi complex | India NewsWORLD NEWS


VARANASI: In a big victory for the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi dispute case, a Varanasi court on Wednesday allowed to offer prayers inside the ‘Vyas Ka Tekhana‘ (sealed basement) area of the mosque complex.
The court issued this order in response to a plea filed by head priest of Acharya Ved Vyas Peeth temple Shailendra Kumar Pathak Vyas seeking worship of Shringar Gauri, other visible and invisible deities in cellar of Gyanvapi mosque.

Court had already allowed appointment of receiver on Vyas’s plea after which district magistrate had taken custody of the southern cellar of Gyanvapi mosque on January 23.

In its order, court has asked to make necessary arrangements in steel fencing for the entry of priest to offer prayers. The order contains that the arrangement should be ensured within 7 days.
The court has fixed February 8 for next hearing in this case. Till then, defendants including Anjuman Intejamia Masajid (Gyanvapi mosque management committee) can file their objections.
Vyas had filed his suit on September 25, 2023 to seek worship of Shringar Gauri other visible and invisible deities in cellar of Gyanvapi mosque and appoint DM or any other suitable persons as receiver of the cellar in southern side of building.
