Land Rover launched the new and updated Range Rover Velar back in July 2023 with prices starting from Rs 93 lakh (ex-showroom), later in December the prices were hiked by Rs 1.3 lakh and now the company has given a price cut of Rs 6.4 lakh. Prices for the SUV now start from Rs 87.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The Land Rover Range Rover Velar is available in a single HSE variant in both Petrol and diesel engine options.The Velar facelift sits between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport.
The Range Rover facelift gets minor changes to the exterior and interior. In terms of design, the SUV gets sleek pixel LED headlamps and dynamic bend lighting. It also gets a revised front grille with a black theme. At the back, the changes are subtle it gets a re-designed bumper with the new scuff plate. The side and the silhouette of the SUV remain the same and the new Velar will be available in Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey colour options.

Moving on to the interior, the Velar now gets an 11.4-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with JLR’s Pivi Pro UI. The updated Velar also gets visible climate and audio controls, a new ‘pre-drive’ panel for commonly used features, and Amazon Alexa voice control functionality. The steering wheel, air vents, and centre console surround now get Moonlight Chrome accents.

The 2023 Velar no longer gets a separate touchscreen for climate control. It gets a new centre console with a hidden storage cubby and wireless phone charger beneath. Land Rover claims that around 80 per cent of all tasks can be carried out with just two taps on the infotainment screen. Other features include, Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Wireless charger and PM 2.5 air filter.

The new Velar gets Active Road Cancellation and Land Rover claims the SUV offers an extremely quiet in-cabin experience. It also gets an electronic air suspension and an advanced chassis system that continuously varies the damping forces at each wheel. The SUV also automatically reduces the body height by 40 mm when entering and exiting.

The new Velar will be available in Dynamic HSE with two engine options a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine which puts out 246 hp of power and 365 Nm of torque. Another engine is the 2.0-litre Ingenium turbo diesel engine which puts out 201 hp of power and 420 Nm of torque.
The SUV gets Land Rover’s Terrain Response 2 system with Eco, Comfort, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Dynamic and Automatic modes. Land Rover says that alters the calibration of the engine, transmission, all-wheel drive system, suspension, and stability control systems for optimum traction and composure.
