Bajaj CNG motorcycle: What to expect
Over the past few months, the motorcycle has been spotted testing multiple times, providing a glimpse into its design and features. The test mules that have been spotted closely resemble standard commuter motorcycles, featuring practical elements such as halogen turn indicators, telescopic forks, and a monoshock unit for suspension. The design includes multi-spoke alloy wheels, a long single-piece seat, and a combination of disc and drum brakes, indicating that Bajaj is targeting the entry-level budget segment.
As for the engine, Bajaj has yet to reveal whether they will adapt an existing petrol engine or develop a completely new powertrain for CNG use. Performance details remain unknown but are expected to be disclosed closer to the launch date. The manufacturer might employ a 110-125 cc engine that will run on both, CNG and petrol.

Although Bajaj has kept detailed specifications under wraps, the company’s recent trademark filings hint at possible names for the new model, including Glider, Marathon, Trekker, and Freedom.
The CNG-powered motorcycle promises significant fuel savings compared to petrol engines, potentially bridging the gap between EVs and ICE motorcycles. While EV sales have grown, they’ve been limited to scooters. A CNG motorcycle could be a cost-effective, eco-friendly option, especially for fleet operators.
